Mobile Inventory System for the Average Household

The meteoric growth in the number of handheld electronic mobile systems, as well as the advances in wireless technologies and capabilities is pushing the state of the art in mobile technology, to new highs. As the internet and e-commerce systems had radically revolutionized our society just a few years ago, wireless mobile systems and mobile-commerce will once again revolutionize the world society and economy. In this same highly evolving world, the sheer number of men and women who are engaged in the labor force is remarkable. Thus more and more families are seeing a huge rise in both parents being occupied in the work force, leaving very little time for families to spend with each other. Therefore, this paper ventures to put forth a conceptual design for a mobile inventory system, which would leverage the advances in technology in order to provide some relief to the hectic schedules of today’s average family or household. It focuses on laying out a design for a wireless mobile inventory system, which can become vitally useful for every day life. The creation of such a system involves the design, integration and interfacing of several system elements, and software. The paper brings to light how such a system can possibly be put together, with the use of current and available and emerging technologies. Thus, resulting in the creation of a mobile interface, to access, search and keep track of all of the items and products in a person’s kitchen/pantry. The enormous benefit of having a comprehensive inventory of all of the items in ones home (kitchen) which is up-to-date, and searchable, and readily accessible using a mobile interface, will be quite significant in saving time, energy, and providing enormous convenience for the average household.
